little review of the sets
Show content

first time i built with cada bricks. the quality is fine, no major color differences, the clamping power is fine, altho a couple of pieces are a bit weak. deffinetly better quality than lego.

the car boxes are simple but have nice presentation showing the brick build car as well as the character who drives it. the big box for the parking lot is even better with some more panels from cars driving on the back side

the cars had some interessting building steps, like snotting the side panels of the cars. the parking lot has not much going on building wise except for the trees and the big sign. other than that, its mostly stacking panels

big negative in my eyes, it has stickers. only the plates with the initial d logo are printed. i get that some stuff couldnt be printed because it overarches multiple surfaces, but at least on the cars, many parts could have been printed. funnly enough those sets are fairly cheap in price and considering that lego even uses stickers on 300+$ models, i’m kinda fine with it (like none of those sets are more than 80)

all in all, building this was fun and its definitly worth the cheap price

@aetios it sure is quite the waste tbh (from my perspective) Its something you can do with less supported architectures or if you have special constraints where every bit counts. But with x86 default-packages on a desktop. Not worth it if not necessary.

@eru generally yeah it is harder to break. But tempered breaks easier on punctual impact.

@puniko I got one a few years back. It is though not an officially licenced one from cada as well. Also have that FC35 I still need to build though. I see you also got the smaller ones as well?

@aperture Every improvement is welcome with Gimp and GTK2 was a showstoppper for so many things it seems.

@volpeon Oh my how does this get even worse? neocat_shocked Their second loan has something of loan-sharking. Imagine having interest that grows as you go less solvent... I know venture capital is risky and cutthroat business but they sure got the knifes out blobcatknife

@volpeon Reading into this. Its very grave. Like having very few actual customers, using their inventory in GPUs as collateral and having loans with interest that is midly said very high. (Imagine paying 14% Interest per anno!)

You can generally use the thing you bought as colleteral for the loan which bought the thing. Its kinda expensive though and you *rely* on the thing to make money to pay itself off plus all costs it produces.

How to built a company on sand or rather Venture Capital with very commodity stuff like GPUs.
