I recently did a talk on being nonbinary in Japan and sparking useful discussion around gender split/bias in Japan. I thought I'd share this longpost here from Bluesky, too.
There's a lot of folks in Japan and the US that don't understand what nonbinary means, and I break it down here. I don't think it's hard to understand because it's a difficult concept—it's because if we accept gender fluidity we accept that we can't pretend we have gender equity in society.
