@alexseifert I guess I am in a bit of a writing mood rn so this one might end up longer lol. Hope you don't mind.

I am like pretty sure I told you my story and stuff but anyway.

I guess some part of the journey as a crossdresser certainly still is figuring yourself out. As you say you there does not have to be a connection between dressing non-genderconforming and being trans. It can be, but does not have to be. Atleast if I can believe the r/crossdressing subreddit most men who crossdress consider themselves to be straight and not a trans person.

Being trans does have its own set of challenges. Some are mental while some are just physical. I think* (I am not a trans so actual trans-people may correct me here please) the most distinguishing factor is how you actually feel in your body in general. They might feel like not belonging in their whole bodies like its not really them. Atleast what I heard from some trans friends and what I have read online generally. But its surely a topic I am not the most qualified to speak about so I will leave it that.

Crossdressing alone does not equal being trans in my case for sure. Did I myself generally toy with the idea of what life as a woman might be for me? Yeah sure did. But tbh I never really gone further with that train of thought for myself really. I never considered I might be trans realistically and I do fell quite well with being a man and generally feel well in body.

Was I ever asked if I am gay, a trans-female? Sure. I was even called ma'm by a stranger in the netherlands one which felt kinda odd to me lol. I don't blame people though.

The positive look on this would be that people want to be nice to people early in their transitions where they might show a lot of characteristics that still align with their AGAB. So especially in queer-friendly circles people might ask if you are trans, when you are just crossdressing in reality. Not wanting to be rude I guess and misgender people. Generally a good thing.

I had that a few weeks ago when I went to the CSD in Stuttgart on official Invitation of the tax authority of Baden-Württemberg. What an honor to be there in an official capacity btw. Felt so valid QueerCat_Pride

One of my colleagues than asked me if I was trans or something, as I was wearing a skirt, tights and some nice boots with heels. They just wanted to understand me better which was pretty nice actually.

I did never get behind why people would deduce your sexuality by the way you dress. Thats kinda a whole different topic to me and whole other can of worms. Though I guess being asked if I am gay in a gay bar while I am wearing a dress and heels is not too out of place.

I did have quite some time to mull over why I am dressing that way and if thats "bad" or not. You know the gender non-conforming demons.

With the help of friends and family (being very supportive blobcatheart ) I figured out its totally fine. Does not make or break me as a person what I wear nor does it define me. Me is me. And if me likes a cute skirt thats also me.

I have seen people on reddit putting on like real personas when they crossdress with a new name, different behaviour and going the extra mile with breast plates, make-up in order to pass for a women. Though others just put on a little make-up and shave legs. As with everything there is a spectrum to it.

I don't really feel like a different person when dressing in skirts and stuff. I do change a tiny bit I guess. I do feel like more confident and stuff and more bold. In general I do feel like it does help me bring more of myself to the outside while also looking really good. You know I never was really the image of a "real man" that toxic masculinity tries to sell you. I am not really super interested in that lifestyle. I do generally try to keep fit but keep a lean aesthetic not being really muscular and stuff. Though I do love my legs which have a bit from biking so much 😂

Womens fashion is fascinating to me since it allows you to go with some many different aesthetics. My favorite type of deal there is being a bit colorful, comfy and cute. Though I could also dress sexy if I wanted or have a "don't mess with me" attitude. Something I feel like I could express with mens fashion. But maybe my definition of "sexy" is skewed really much.

Its just something of me I cannot show in "regular" clothing. Also I do just love seeing myself like this being maybe also a bit cute giggly (being like *sways skirt* I look so cute today)

I took up a camera and some slight photography stuff because of crossdressing and normally I am not big of a fan of photos lol. But looking good and having some memories with friends made me pick it up. Good to have a little wall of good memories when not feeling super well ^^"

I did write a whole essay sorry hopefully it does make sense to you

@NeonPurpleStar You know maybe looking the results only is not the best thing to do. Sometimes you just put effort into something just to see it not work out. That does not mean it was not good to do.

Likely you learned some things along the way or stuff you could differently next time to achieve the result you may have wanted. Or you may just have enjoyed the process of doing something.

@puniko tbh I did read that string of comments and felt like: "What is he going on about?"

I mean tbh I get being against AI and scraping. As was said in that thread poisoning images (if thats what you fancy) does not take away too much from the image (I would not much more than compression does anyway.

But what does "poisoning" alt-text actually accomplish. Nothing really. Makes the experience worse for everyone. And to protect what? Alt-Text. A piece of text describing an image. Nothing that is like super fancy or artsy I think.

Also that other thread about all the scraped sites was hillarious as well. Imagine your posts you post publicly and share with a few hundred servers ending up somewhere you don't want them.

I sometimes doubt that people understand the internet or this concept.

@Takios @volpeon a friend also suggested that it might from some AI-Girlfriend/Boyfriend thingie.

Saying they trained the AI in a specific way, which does not work with GPT-5 yet.

But I can't stop but feel this real bad. smartphones and social media ate addictive as hell already because of their "social" nature (yeah include myself here as well... ). But the attachments to these things is on a different level.

That said I should work on my addiction as well neocat_sweat

@volpeon sometimes I do wonder if its just some elaborate joke or these people really lost the plot.

Making computers seem empathetic was a mistake...
