A couple months ago I posted a clip of an app I made just for myself, and a bunch of you said “please release this.” So I did!

Cava Reader is an ebook + audiobook reader for Android. You load an EPUB and its audiobook, and it highlights each word as the narrator says it, karaoke style. The speech recognition runs on your phone, so it all works offline.

I made it because my brain wanders. When the words light up I never lose my place, and if I zone out for a second I just look back and the highlight is right there. (Same reason I always record my blog posts and post them next to the text. Friends with ADHD got me into that habit.)

No account, no ads, your books never leave your device. There’s also a built-in library of 37 public domain classics you can read along with for free.

@desea @puniko People are just really angry about it I think and being costantly bombarded by it since its taking over FOSS does not help I guess.

But yeah also did notice it is generally harder to get excited about tech atm. Its just dire. But Yeah I am with you "less you know what"-posting might be good for all of us.

Dunno if it is easy to do with all the things going on in FOSS about it....

I do try to do better (it may not work often ) but I also do not wanna leave friends and mutuals alone with bad thoughts about and rather uplift them... Its hard to avoid atm.

Well I was very much doing stuff the last week and did a mock-up for the upcoming JSK (Jumper Skirt) Project I wanted to do for time now. I did some documentation for you along the way and made an actual proper blogpost out of it since I needed a bit more structure and formatting than what fedi provides me with.

writefreely is limiting me too much with its really bad image support so I have thrown one into the main blog as a hidden post. Have fun reading it:
