Trying new things this week. Doing some sewing during week!

Mostly to get somewhere with the current project lol. Normally I would do my sewing on a whole day over the weekend. Depending when I do the chores its either saturday or sunday. Mostly saturday.

Working on a nice Lolita-JSK (mock-up before the real thing).

So far things going well. Did learn some things about patternmaking for these dresses.

I also totally did not mess up the pattern for the bodice (top-part of the dress) the first time.

But I finished the first one over the weekend. Learned assembly and fixed mistakes.

I thought lets try and make the adjustments over the week instead of all in one day. Its more smaller things to do so its easier to segment. I knew the bodice would need some modifications anyway.

By now I have it in the right width at the front. Also the elastic-panel is so satisfiying to make!

Now to figure out the length of the bodice-part. I will need it longer. There are 2 ways to do this. One easier on harder. The easiest is to make longer straps (just have the dress as a whole sit lower) or to elongate the bodice. Harder to do yeah since the depending where you lengthen the geometry of the pieces also shifts…

I also not looking forward to do all that gathering for the skirt portion… Atleast is straight rectangle panels this time and not curved…

But doing a little something besides watching vids after work in the evening that also does not involve PC as much is nice too. Less listless scrolling as well.
