People like to make the argument (for some asinine reason) that things are Bad and it’s Not Normal to have happiness and you should be angry and upset all the time to suit their particular revolution.
Don’t listen to that kind of person; they’re toxic as heck.
Some happiness is normal. Even if you’re furious. Even if you’re grieving. You can and will find moments of happiness, sometimes simultaneous with the anger and grief. It’s normal and necessary. It gives people hope and hope is necessary to keep going.
But my brain sometimes cannot have even that. That’s how depression works. It just sometimes can’t feel any happiness whatsoever under any circumstance.
This is a disease, not a position of moral superiority. All it does is make it harder to find any hope or reason to keep going. It’s crushing, not something that inspires one to action.
Don’t listen to assholes who want you to be angry and upset exclusively.
