@Lugrim I dunno if you actually can get an accurate count. On matrix I think its easier to host your own little pod (thanks conduit and forks!).
But most rooms that are active are still on matrix.org. I really use it more for personal stuff.

@Lugrim @ari @rick Do never look at the matrix.org homeserver then. Tbh We having the same problem like mastodon and the fediverse have over there as well

I do know that displaying the emotes/stickers should work fine on every client really. I mean all it does is display an image really.
(though some terminal-ui client does not work correctly)
Otherwise we really have consistency in most things (when matrix.org does not decide to push literal breaking changes like sliding sync)
The emote stuff is proposed for a good while already as well.
