@mametsuko Oh thank you mame Its certainly not ready yet (and won't be for a while) But hitting that milestone in the drafting is great as the japanese sewing magazine only really included a pattern for the base skirt. And they said: The panels you will need to figure out yourself.

So I did have to try different sizes first. So thats the result you see there. Though making the thing for real will be a bit harder But there is much time until Dokomi next year to get it done. First will be the maid dress though.

Wanted to work on that one this week since I already cut all the pieces and now its just putting them all together using the instructions.

But I do have some special fabrics in mind for that skirt. The first one on the photo is japanese canvas (drawing from the japanese origin of Lolita-dresses and skirts, though yes I know Lolita is based on something else non-japanese). And the second one is a very cute fabric I found in a local store with a symbol of the area I live in the famous Bollenhut.

So getting some of the flair of the region I am living in for more than 20 years.

The rest will be chenille / slash-cut panels and lots of tartan/flanell stuff and Houndstooth pattern as well.

Composition (so all the fabrics look good) will be key though. That will be fun... (not? but maybe)

I am genuienly so happy right now, since it actually seems like that skirt I wanted to sew might actually turn out really great and more or less exactly the way I would have hoped.

After that small sewing crisis I had with that lovely red dress yesterday (I will post that one on here once its fixed to my liking)

I just love everything on that outfit right now. The boot were definietly the right buy as well for it.

Also I am kinda digging that raw look it has right now. The edges of the fabric are just serged with a zig-zag stitch so they do not open with some thread hanging down.

Will need to think about that look as making hems on all those panels sounds super tedious anyway. Might just use some serger-stitch for some neat Seams around those panels.

Its basically a 3-tiered skirt with a bunch of panels of your liking on top I found in a lolita-sewing magazine and fell in love with. I needed that skirt in my life. (luckily I found a pattern service which has these as printable patterns). Even bought a printer (I needed one anyway mostly for scanning stuff and printing the occasional document)

Very fun indeed. Your Trasflag idea might work very well. Kinda reminds me of that image and flag someone on here posted where they took the bavarian flag and gave it transcolors. Sadly I dunno who posted that one. But with rhombus panels instead of normal rectangles we might be onto something. Though sewing those one would be kinda difficult

@toast Well the parts is mostly supply thing. In Taiwan for instance you could buy many many components in actual stores that only sell say... mosfets.
