The browser extension SingleFile (https://github.com/gildas-lormeau/SingleFile) is blowing my mind.

Not only will it create a minified, single-file copy of the webpage you're viewing that you can keep forever, it can also combines the parts in such a way that it can be read as a ZIP (with all the HTML, CSS, image & other files inside) at the same time as being readable by browsers as HTML (which extracts that zip and displays the page) at the same time as being a PNG fil https://www.byjp.me/notes/2024-11-21/singlefile/

I recently did a talk on being nonbinary in Japan and sparking useful discussion around gender split/bias in Japan. I thought I'd share this longpost here from Bluesky, too.

There's a lot of folks in Japan and the US that don't understand what nonbinary means, and I break it down here. I don't think it's hard to understand because it's a difficult concept—it's because if we accept gender fluidity we accept that we can't pretend we have gender equity in society.

Hello everyone, the Sharkey project has been quiet due to our ongoing efforts to patch major security vulnerabilities in coordination with Firefish, Iceshrimp.js, and upstream Misskey. On Wednesday, November 20th, 2024, our efforts will be finalized with a security release for all affected projects. It is of upmost importance to update your instance(s) to the latest version if you utilize any of the aforementioned software once the patches are released.

I honestly kinda love this
