Just a normal bunny-boy (not really) with a cute pink hat
I do stuff with taxes for a living and occasionally touch server-stuff for a hobby (when I am not banging my head against it and want to throw it out the window)

I love dressing girly occasionally, call me crossdresser. All future pics for that will be posted on my picdump-account on my sharkey-instance: https://shark.lightnovel-dungeon.de/@stefan (I will vet the followings there)

I also love sewing and reading (Light Novels especially)

o7 sewing machine motor, headphone warning

o7 to this sewing machine motor (likely?). Dunno exactly if its the belt or motor yet tbh

I got it back from repair and they did not need to swap the motor out seemingly.

After some sewing I think something on that motor just ... died I am not sure.

If you wanna take a listen be my guest. I also did bring the old sewing machine I still have for comparison (it surely is rattling mess but the motor is just fine, I may just need to fit that handwheel better)

TIL dolphin (the file manager of the KDE-Desktop) makes ripping CDs very easy lol. No other program or terminal needed.

I bought some daft-punk cds recently and stuffed the first one (Random Access Memories) into my drive and mounted it in KDE and found what you can see in the screenshot.

I was very confused. Did they ship pre-encoded stuff on that disk? Tried playing a file from the FLAC or MP3 folders. Player stalls "buffering..." it says.

I stuffed the same CD under windows. Only CDA-Files on that CD (as expected). plays with no issue in Windows media player.

Opened the disk in Thunar. Only wav-files. Play fine.

Using some internet search-engine... I came across the german Ubuntu-wiki (https://wiki.ubuntuusers.de/CDs_rippen/#Konqueror-Dolphin). Which stated (english translation below):

English:
"In dolphin and konqueror you have the possibility to view the contents of a CD as virtual folders. To use this feature type the following into the adress bar:

audiocd:/

You can copy these folder as any other normal folder. The ripping and encoding process will happen automatically in the background. During the rip cdparanoia is used and for encoding either lame (MP3) or ogenc (Ogg-Vorbi) is used. You can configure the quality settings in [KDE] System Settings -> Mulitmedia -> Audio CDs"

nifty feature tbh. For mp3s it also automatically does the Id3-tags for you. (other than the album-art)

@mametsuko @steph I am just not gonna tell you that this pack right there is 6,25 €... shop-apotheke has them for about 6 €. But I really only when the other ones I usually use won't help me.

These ones are not really for the same thing but they really help me keep my throat happy day to day.

(chronic illness can really suck sometimes, but on most days I feel good enough with a nasal-shower-bottle and these things, gotta keep that mucus moving lol)

@steph @mametsuko Ye I know these thingies. I should really check though if I find cheaper ones than the "brand-name" ones I usually have.

I am a very sad bunny right now neobun_llenn_sad I might have just slightly overwhelmed my poor little machine with all of the zig-zagging I did recently.

It was running at the highest speed for some time for sure,

I dunno but it does just not sound normal anymore at slower speeds. Lots of electrical buzzing coming from that motor. I know like some buzzing is quite normal for a motor in sewing machine. But normally you should only really have that before it starts moving not while its moving...

Have a listen if you like. (it might be a bit loud)

Also please excuse the the wrong aspect ratio lol.

Though one thing is rather odd that makes me think that its not the motor being at fault here but an actual mechanical issue.

EDIT: I did also notice right now and sometimes in the last few days that the handwheel is quite hard to turn. So maybe its some belt or gear at fault. Like the wheel should not be that hard to turn. Might explain why the motor is struggeling at slower speeds to move stuff...

and if you wanna see how bad it looks right now. Here are some photos. (I am generally aware that color-matching white can be deceiving on cameras. But look at the white hanger and the white fabric for reference.

Seeing the mantle like that makes me kinda sad neobun_llenn_sad

I guess I will grab some washing machine cleanser (maybe my washing is also kinda dirty?) seems like a good idea to use a cleaner there as well... and some vanish (for white stuff). Maybe the bleach and optical whitener in that stuff can bring the white back. Therenis some hope...

@mametsuko Sharkey is broken! I even tagged you in that post. Never got to MAB. I know atleast how to fix it, not MABs fault. But I can give a peek ^^

The cuteness!
