bookwyrm
wonder if it is possible to bridge goodreads to bookwyrm
main reason is cause a lot of authors themselves use goodreads, and i generally like to keep up to date on what authors i respect are reading

like purely from a social aspect, i think goodreads is a pretty good platform (as in, it hasnt enshitted like reddit)
but obv its amazon owned, closed, full of tracking, etc.

@eru I do know though that bookwyrm is missing many books sadly.

@stefan i have not actually had too much issues with missing books, in fact im surprised by how comprehensive openlibrary is
the adding from external catalog thing is a similar experience to librarything when i was using it
for missing books (mostly lesser known obscure stuff) i just add them as i start reading them or add them to plan to read list, not really too big of an issue

@eru I had issues with data from external catalogues when it comes to data-quality with my preffered books being Light Novels.

I wanted to contribute some data inventaire but the project tends to get stuck with me for quite some time as I don't really have that time to work through the data and ensure good quality and the data I scraped to be correct. Speaking of biting off more than I could chew...
