had a small experiment with running a bluesky-pds. I got to work even without docker, but it seems rather meh tbh. Though to be fair I did not give too much of a change since even verifiying my E-Mail was kinda not working, I dunno why since you cannot configure a mailer for bsky-pds

Likely since I did not use a fresh-domain or something. Its pretty hostile to assume you are the only service running on a server and the only thing a domain is used for. Everything else requires bending stuff. So you need a fresh-domain and atleast a VM on a server so its easy to install.

tbh not worth any more effort on my side it seems.

@stefan They don’t make it obvious at all, but you can define your own mail service using env vars:

PDS_EMAIL_SMTP_URL=smtp://username:password@domain.tld                                                                                                                                                                                            
PDS_EMAIL_FROM_ADDRESS=whatever@you.want

@volpeon actually got it working atleast. The handle is still invalid but I dunno. Maybe a problem to fix later together with media uploads
