One of my game dev friends was frustrated that people were finding one of the strongest weapon types in their game very weak. So, they released a patch that said it buffed that weapon type. Then, all they did was double the size of the hit impact effect. The damage was unchanged.

People loved it and were praising the buff left and right.

@cadeybunny Sometimes is nice for things to look cool and hefty. Weapons having a sense of weight to them makes them nicer tbh. (Monster Hunter comes to mind)

Also sometimes placebos are fine.

@stefan Any monster hunter enthusiast I know praises Monster Hunter for its incredibly beefy hitstop when you land a high-damage attack on a weak spot.

The feel of landing a charged greatsword hit on a monster's head is freaking iconic!

@cadeybunny Exactly. Fully charged well-timed Greatsword Hit is just nice. Also I would like to make a case for the Hammer "Golfswing" at the end of a combo right to the head. It just *feels* brutal and cool.

The devs really nailed that feel.
