I ended up just installing Jellyfin for music streaming. Maybe a bit overkill, but it works and is about the simplest option to self-host these days.

I had a pretty decent 50+ GB collection of music. But it was so old and crappy. Through the years it had been run through so many library organizers and crap that a bunch of stuff was mis-identified and the quality was all over the place. It contained everything from 24-bit FLACs to 128kbps MP3 rips off youtube videos with cringy intros at the start.

So around 2019 or something I decided that NewPipe's background player was good enough and I finally threw that pile in the garbage. Decided to just start from scratch if I had to build a collection again.

I didn't expect to not have access to a private tracker for music anymore though.

Oh

Ooohh

I just taught people were super serial about not naming the private tracker they used when talking about it.

They got me.

@jonossaseuraava A number of trackers do also genuinely have "Do not mention elsewhere on the internet" somewhere in their rules afaik.

No no. I mean I tought people replaced the trackers name with "redacted" as in "Redaction or sanitization is the process of removing sensitive information from a document so that it may be distributed to a broader audience."

I didn't know it was actually just called redacted.

And now I'm pretty sure this confusion was the intent on that name. Thus they got me.
