the bluesky pds thing really looks like it assumes that you're going to use a vps that's directly facing the internet and running specific debian or ubuntu versions, at least if you're using the installer script
not sure if I'm up to renting another vps for that sort of thing

literally, and the installer script also assumes that you’re only going to be using it for that since it basically manhandles your system and does everything for you, only letting the user fill basic info. thankfully its not that bad to poke at the script and look at other references to make it entirely yourself (like how i did) but still . eugh
