There are zoomer youtube leftoids that seem to really believe that “girls and panzer” et al is an elaborate propaganda effort to remilitarize Japan and not just like the latest in 40 years of “themed anime with cute girls doing things” because they don’t know anime before 8 years ago I guess?

@mia I haven’t come to terms with being old yet so I am always surprised every time I see a young person that is outraged about something “regressive” in an anime because they weren’t alive in the 1980s

@mia @sun Gate is very problematic as a show, though tbh I still kinda enjoyed the show on some level.

Also blowing up a dragon with C4 somehow has an appeal.

From I heard it was toned down a lot in aspect of glorification of the military compared to the Novels (I wanted to read them but never did lol)

@mia @sun Yeah never really did tbh. Since it only ever got a Fan-TL which was incomplete at best and made from chinese? I don't remember exactly. I still have it somewhere in calibre.
