@rick @yura Technically I want a Linux phone that provides an Android compatibility layer (that can run Android apps, without the whole Android stack).

Wasnt there something like that available for Chromebooks at some point? Can’t you port that?

@kura @yura i think sailfishOS had sth similar.. but afaik this stuff works rather bad than good ^^v..

@lyyn @rick @yura Does Waydroid run without the need of a full Android installation running in the background that drains power?
Because I dont want a VM running on a mobile phone just for that. Plus if you use a VM with a fullblown Android installation, you got to create a possibility to witch between Host and Guest. And you only have (Multi) touch and limited ohysical buttons

I do not want a VM that runs in the background constantly that uses resources, just because it is running.

@kura I am not 100% if waydroid runs all the time. I only used it for a bit on a pinephone...
