@sun @Strandjunker @tsugumi tbh im mostly thinking if being trans is genetically right now. i mean whats the chances of multiple trans kids by the same parents?

1/50 people is trans, roughly. hard to determine because or repression and stuff

2 people being trans is 1/2500

if it the occurance of trans sibblings is higher it might be genetic or something (i know there is probalby some proper research to this, but im to lazy to use a search engine rn. so im writing paragraphs online. )

@grillchen @Strandjunker @tsugumi 1/50 is very high. one of the arguments I have heard against trans kids being a spontaneous real thing is the incredible statistical unlikelihood of multiple trans kids in one household, its possible it just seems far more statistically likely that there is some kind of parental control thing going on bc kids are very suggestible. this probably needs longitudinal studies. I'm not precluding any outcome of such studies. I really don't know.

@sun @grillchen @Strandjunker @tsugumi theres a fair amount of data for transness having a genetic basis to a significant degree

@nemesis @Strandjunker @sun @tsugumi i know being trans and autism correlates. ~80% of autism can be linked to inherited genetics. rest is probably non inherited mutations

@grillchen @Strandjunker @sun @tsugumi One could be very pessimistic about and say stuff like "No wonder there is less research into trans stuff. Doing research on these matters would bring with it more visability of transness in medicine. Conservatives not want that"

but yeah I did hear from time to time that awareness of trans-specific needs in medicine are often neglected.

But I guess getting funding and people to this might be not the easiest especially right now...
