@mametsuko @fristi Glad you like the little gifts ^^ Cullinary gifts do mostly work. Just buy something good quality from the region.

The honey is really like the most proper one you can get here. You can get honey in these jars (I think) all across germany. Each region has their own beekepers which are part of that beekeepers association. Mine is from Badischer Imkerverband which itself is part of the German Beekeepers' association

The bigger association does control the honey to the proper and higher standards. In turn the beekeepers get to use the special glasses emblems and stuff. So the consumer can see easily its proper stuff.

The Veggi-Paste I did taste as well. My mother makes like somewhat similar of a paste so I did have to try that german veggi paste. I liked it. Though the russian is different.

The russian one is called Баклажанная икра (baklazhanaja Ikra) and is super tasty and easily made. Baklazhan is nothing other than Eggplant. Its also called Eggplant caviar. There is different recipies to it. All of them use Eggplant obviously but the things can differ.

My mom I think made more of a Uzbekian style. Which uses Eggplant, tomatoes, Zucchini some bellpepper and some garlic (though that one will depend on taste). In the end you can either mash it or leave it chunckier. Though the mashed is great to put on bread.

Its easily made, very tasty and was/is a good way to make veggies have longer shelf life.

blobcatdrool uuuh I think I got what I want to eat for dinner today. Just gotta get some nice bread and make some for myself.

Thank you for coming to my TED-Talk and cullinary infodump

@mametsuko @fristi Just to add some more stuff here. Obvs. Ikra can also be bought at the store. You might need to go to a store with a international area in it or a specialty store even. My local rewe has that so they have Ikra with eggplant or zuchhini. I usually like a mix of both though.

I will do mine from scratch today though.
