the one thing I think that would make xmpp omemo perfect is borrowing the key recovery mechanism from matrix so you can see older encrypted messages on newer devices

@mikoto Matrix has key recovery? In my experience it more had key loss…

@lanodan @mikoto Certainly did have less problems switching devices on matrix tbh. Just log in, verify new device or use a recovery password and its done.

Stuff does get better with time.
