databases on btrfs cow
one day my services suddenly became very slow
i checked and realized iowait was like 75%, and also my disk were constantly both reading and writing upwards of 100mb/s
then i realized i forgot to disable cow for them
so yeah, chattr +C or mount nodatacow anything that has a db, it causes severe read/write amplification
so this actually caused some expensive problems (one of the ssds failed today)
at the rate it was writing i may have been writing the entire drive like once per day
and reading many times more than that…
