I felt like wear a little bit of an unusual outfit today. These are some of the highest boots I own, but fit so well that they’re actually pretty comfortable.

@RJCA_PT Yes, I can. I don't usually go out in such shoes, but I have no problems walking around the house in them all day. :)

@alexseifert @RJCA_PT Ye walking around in such puppies at home is no problem though outside I would like die in ones like these. Pavement can be very uneven. Its even a challenge in my beloved booties which are only like 7cm and 3cm platform plus its a more stable block heel.

At home these are mostly cool. Though I personally don't wear shoes inside (only for photos)

@stefan @RJCA_PT Pavement is really difficult in heels, especially stiletto heels. I've seen women do it and have tried it myself... Block heels are better, but also sometimes tough, especially on cobblestones!

I wear heels a lot at home because I love wearing them, but don't like wearing them outside much. My feet also tend to be cold, so wearing shoes inside helps me with that 😅

@alexseifert @RJCA_PT I will have to see if I die in those boots I shown off recently. A nice CSD coming op on the weekend and they want to be worn out lol.

@alexseifert @RJCA_PT Hopefully it is. Though I can tell you more on the boots on friday I guess as I wanted also to visit some queer cafe in them. Just to get a feel for them before "commiting" a full day with them (I can always carry sneakers with or change on premise tbh)

@stefan @RJCA_PT That sounds like fun. Hopefully, they'll be comfortable enough to wear!

@alexseifert I hope so (so much tbh). There is a part of me that wants to be seen strolling around in these beauties. Also bought some insoles that hopefully help me out as the shoes were quite big anyway.

I will take a backpack with some sneakers with me though for safety. I could then atleast easily change if needed.

I still don't get how women do this blobcatjoy

@stefan That's a good idea. I've done that before too. It's always good to have a backup plan 😉

I don't know how women do it either, but I have fun trying to figure it out!

@alexseifert The big plan was to wear them to a con next year with that skirt I am making atm. So if I can manage CSD in them the event might be doable (maybe since cons require lots more walking) But I will have tested them on cobblestone as well after this weekend

@stefan Sounds like a smart idea to start small and then work your way up to wearing them for a longer period of time. Hopefully they will be comfortable enough to wear to the con next year! By then, you should also have some time to break them in a little bit. :)

@alexseifert I mean I did run around in like 6 or 7.5cm heels already on some occasions. You do learn stuff as time goes on for sure.

I was mostly quite lucky when it comes to blisters. Though being prepared is always a good idea. ^^'

Stopping your feet from sliding around in the shoes does help prevent blisters quite good. Its also a reason I love Heels which you can really secure with laces.

When I was in Utrecht with a friend I went out in some nice blocky heels with only pantyhose on and then the heels. We walked like I think 1km from the hotel to the station.

I noticed there I will certainly be problems like that down the line. So went into a primark and I found some "Blister Resist Socks". Basically some thicker like 2 layered socks. They worked well. Though you really need space for them in the shoes. Which I had.

I then spend most of the day running around in heels through the city. Though before dinner I did change into sneakers just to prevent bad stuff lol. I enjoyed that day so much. Meeting friends, talking, having fun. Looking at myself in all the shop-windows. I was so cute!

@stefan Blisters are no fun. I've had plenty of them too. My right foot tends to be the foot that gets them since it's the bigger one. I was once in heeled boots in Regensburg and it was so bad that I had to go to Galeria Kaufhof and buy a second pair of socks to put over my first pair for extra padding. That helped with the blisters and rubbing, but wasn't very comfortable. I ended up selling those shoes on ebay.

@alexseifert Man blisters are the worst. I managed to get away without any so far. By being a bit smart. I am no fan of open top shoes (so no lacing straps or anything) since I don't like the look of those anyway.

In boots (of any shaft height). You can get away with socks easily since it won't disturb the outfit.

Some outfits like that maid dress I work on look better with tights in the shoes directly though. So I like to have some strap to secure them better so my foot does not move around as much while walking to prevent blisters.

Most of the time my problem is more that I tend to get abbrasion between my thigh and crotch-region. So I hope those cycling shorts will help there as they have no seam that region that can rub.

@alexseifert
That skirt is beautiful and the overknee boots go so well with it!

@stefan Blisters are absolutely terrible. Boots definitely have the advantage of being able to wear socks. In colder weather, you can also wear thick socks which helps a lot to prevent blisters.

They make stretchy, transparent straps that you can put over your foot and around the bottom of the shoe so that they stay in place better. My wife has a pair of pumps she wears with them and it helps with the rubbing a lot.

@stefan Cycling shorts will probably help. I also want to try tights made for men like these:
https://www.glamory-strumpfhosen.de/Herrenstrumpfhosen/Glamory-Microman-100-Herrenstrumpfhose--blickdicht-100den.html

or

https://www.amazon.de/Aurellie-Opaque-Everyday-Footed-Tights/dp/B084D739PY?th=1&psc=1

Since they're built for men, maybe they'll fit better in the crotch region.
