@puniko to be fair those people are always not entirely wrong. dunno what the E-ID is about but stuff like putting fingerprints in your ID (and honestly the existence of IDs at all) does limit our freedom and i do find it quite bad. or pushing for cashless society, where every transaction can be seen by your bank, and it is used to profile you, and it makes it harder to avoid taxation and do shady business.
stuff like shitting on immigrants or being antivax is stupid and completely ungrounded tho.
@mayu the e-id we vote on this weekend is open source and doesnt store much more than our regular id. the only thing it has for biometrics is a photo. no fingerprints or the likes are on there.
also the eid is build in such a way that it lets you control, which info you give to a certain peer. so all in all, this implementation is quite ok imo (main concern last time when we voted about eid was it being issued by private corpos, which now it isnt). sure it still has some flaws and i get the concerns about privacy and stuff and i dont disagree with that (in fact, i do share those concerns). but whats written on that flyer is mostly made up fearmongering instead of arguing about valid concerns.
also our state isnt really pushing for a “cashless society”. i mean, its switzerland. and swiss people have quite a big attachment to the swiss cash. imo its more the private sector, who pushes for that. but thats just my 2 cents about that
