oh hell yeah a change.org petition that'll save firefox from being the victim of their own fucking incompetence of failing to sustain themselves instead of relying on Google.

and no, the answer isn't killing Mozilla either. it'll never be the answer. open source devs contributing code between their lunch breaks or no-lifeing in their basement aren't going to be able to compete with whatever company purchases Chrome. Firefox NEEDS corporate backing. every successful open source project with relevance has the backing of corporate. the best firefox forks are still based off of firefox in the end of the day-- and there WILL be another Mozilla that forms if Mozilla does end up dying. money is important to fund round the clock interest in your product.

this is Mozilla's fault. all of this is entirely Mozilla's fault. they spent the entire 2010s making stupid bullshit projects that no one cared about, and lost trust with people who swore by firefox in the first place by being wishy-washy with their privacy stances.

i am soley convinced that no is actually a fan of Firefox, Firefox is just the best of a shitty situation.

@vozercozer this whole petition implies mozilla isn't entirely taken over by google, which it actually is. Most of mozilla are literally google employees and other google sorts. Mozilla's control over web standards is but a whimpering howl in a sea of screams. Google already has all the control they'll ever need.

This fight was lost years ago and I'm tired of everyone pretending otherwise. The only solution is that we get a new player that directly competes with the standards and does so successfully.

@fristi @vozercozer If almost all your revenue comes from your own competitor something goes horribly wrong anyway. If you topple over once payments stop you are just not doing business correctly.
