I want to work as a freelancer but it is also hard and does not seem to be a good option for me right now

@mametsuko Freelance has quite some strings attached like book-keeping, taxes and as well as insurance you might need to take care of yourself. Its possible but generally a lot of work is required.

@mametsuko friend who is doing freelance only says the best way to is to try it out in your free (after ur day job) time. if it works well enough for some time quit ur day job.

@mametsuko been considering it too, and came to similar conclusions. it seems easier to some extent in France with something we have ("portage salarial"), where you have a company handle all accounting, paperwork, taxes, insurance, etc. for you and they give you a typical French work contract for 3 to 10% commission on what you make. (there's a bunch of advantages to this, and not many disadvantages with how the law makes this possible)

tosti's gonna be doing that. I have a stable job but no prospects right now because I'm still considered a "junior" and the market only wants seniors right now, and for mortgage purposes, banks prefer to have someone that has had a stable job for 2 to 3 years, so maybe I'll look after that though I'm not getting my hopes up

@grillchen @mametsuko it is hard to find your first clients, even harder to find long term ones.

unless you want to scrape upwork and co.
which can be a hit or miss.

so yes, start with it on weekends or after day jobs and see how it goes.

@mametsuko @grillchen then search for both.
or search for part time work, so you can get at least some money.
starting out freelancing is very hard in my experience.
