Switch 2 looking pretty cool! Some nice game surprises and maybe finally we can put 30fps games behind us? The price is a bit much but I never buy consoles at launch unless they got a new Zelda game, so I can wait a bit for it. Probably going back to physical purchases cause I really regret going completely digital for Switch 1.
@Ossi Switch 1 is still the same price today as it was at launch eight years ago. It's been on various sales throughout the years, but definitely wouldn't anticipate any official price drops on the Switch 2.
@schlep Yea I'm not expecting a price drop in the near future. I just mean I can wait for a bigger game that I want to make it worth getting. I'm in Canada too and the prices are more inflated here :(
@Ossi It seems to be a rule that no matter how much extra power gaming hardware has, it will inevitably be pushed to 30 fps to look nicer in marketing screenshots.
Framegen is only going to make this hilariously worse.
@gourd For sure, it's quite depressing. But I think if stuff like frame gen continues to make games look worse there's going to be push back. We already see a lot of that for last gen games that don't use it.
But yea, it's sad how our hardware is getting better but our software runs/looks worse. I'll remain optimistic for now since I think indie devs are going to be leading the charge for a while anyways. And most of them don't do that kind of stuff.
