am4 is still pretty good, pretty sure my existing desktop would have lasted for another 5 years for much of what I do

but zen 5 is definitely a nice step up

@mikoto Just picked up desktop without SSD or graphics card for 300€ inkluding a 5700x. AM4 sure is a nice budget option by now.

Have a 5600x build myself. Still like AM4 so much.

@stefan yeah it's a great budget platform that packs a punch, and there's room to upgrade to something like an x3d cpu or a 12/16 core down the line too

@mikoto Though the built will be a first built for someone in my wider family so a peasently 8 Cores have to make due. Just wish graphics were more affordable.
