@nextcloud and this is where I start to regret having migrated to you

@nextcloud ... really? Teams is a big big pain in the ass, and you want to become a bigger pain... really?
The more you want to be Microsoft, the more you are as bad as them. Your AI attempt was my reason to leave nextcloud. And by setting Teams as a goal, you prove me I was right.

@aikencz
No já to kdysi nainstaloval jako novinku k vyzkoušení. Paxem na to zapoměl a teď koukám jak vyvoraná myš jak to mezitím vyrostlo ....

@nextcloud
Then please only with screen sharing functionality! And preferably with an option to draw on the other screen. Just like Slack has been offering for ages!
I don't always want to have to draw attention to a place like this: "right, further right, even further, stop that was too much"!

Then, and only then, can I recommend this to someone as a replacement.

@nextcloud I think it's great you're trying to be an alternative to Teams.....Teams has the absolute worst interface though. Copying it isn't that great of an idea. Please try to set your sights a little higher and improve on some of the design elements that make it such a pain to use.

Shockingly, I actually like the use of AI here. I have a LOT of trouble paying attention in meetings and this might actually help me.

@nextcloud
But does it still need a well configured TURN server, which in turn allows people like ionos to sabotage the functionality?

@RalphStark @nextcloud So trying to replace MS Teams with an open source, self-hosted solution is bad? I'm a bit lost 😅

Nextcloud Talk is trying to be to MS Teams, what Mastodon is to Twitter.

A better, privacy-friendly, open source alternative.

@vitex
Já to začal používat už dávno, tehdy jako ownCloud, s mnoha problémy. Některé přetrvávají, ale celkově je to dobrý software.

@nextcloud Oh right. More AI. That's what everyone was waiting for.

Are you deliberately trying to piss people off? What for?

@viktor
What's the benefit of Teams? Is there anything new, good or even useful in teams. It's the worst chat client , the worst mail client, the worst calendar program the worst phone client, the worst onlinemeeting app and there's nothing new in this program. Teams is in every aspect a step backwards.

Shit doesn't get eatable if it is more private.

@RalphStark @nextcloud This we agree on. But I don't understand how a better alternative is bad?

@viktor It's not an alternative. To put energy in yet another shitty shit, worsens the main program and eliminates innovation.
Someone should start fixing the problems instead of following a bad program. You'll never be better than the shit, if you try to create a better shit. No one except the decider likes teams.
In my company, only the IT-guys(which will never ever do anything else than Microsoft) and the boss likes teams. So there's no one who will ever choose something like "same same but different".
You need to have a sur plus to make them think different. @nextcloud

@RalphStark @viktor @nextcloud

Unfortunately it is a part of office365 and I have to use it 🤷‍♂️

Open source alternative is nice, but if it is not compatible with Teams I can't use it. There will be nobody from my work colleagues.

@RalphStark @nextcloud I'll have to disagree with that. Companies switch to better options all the time. Companies, universities, governments are switching to Nextcloud, including Talk for communication.

It's not easy to unseat MS, but it's also not impossible.

@dnddeutsch Atleast you don't have to use it... Likely some plugin or other. But yeah Ai-Craze is real even with Open Source. Just easier to sell software with it these days? comfyeek
